Brazil

Brazil, officially Federative Republic of Brazil (in Portuguese: Federative Republic of Brazil) is a country in South America.
The Amazon covers 3.6 million square kilometers of its territory. Thanks to this and its climate is one of the countries with more species of animals in the world.

The official language of Brazil is Portuguese, spoken by almost the entire population and virtually the only language used in media, business and administrative purposes. Exceptions to this are the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira, where ñe'engatú, a South American Indian language, has co-official status alongside Portuguese, and the municipalities of Santa Maria de Jetibá and Pomerode, where German also has co-official status.

Art
The statue of Christ Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro has become a symbol of hospitality of the city and Brazil in the world.

Brasilia Cathedral, designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987.











Carnival in Río de Janeiro





Carnival in Rio de Janeiro is one of the most important festivals of the city.
Festival that precedes Lent, celebrated annually on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. Although not a national holiday in some states do not works on Monday before the festival, thus forming the four-day carnival.



Environment
The macaw is an emblematic animal of Brazil, a country with one of the populations of birds and amphibians most diverse in the world.
The Amazon rainforest is the richest and most biodiverse on the planet. The vast territory of Brazil comprises different ecosystems, such as the Amazon, known for hosting the most biodiverse in the world, the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado, which also support a rich biodiversity, for which Brazil is classified as a mega-diverse country.
The rich wildlife of Brazil reflects the variety of natural habitats. Scientists estimate that the total number of plant and animal species in Brazil is approximately four million. Among the large mammals including Brazilian pumas, jaguars, ocelots, foxes vinegar, foxes, coyameles, tapirs, anteaters, sloths, opossums and armadillos. Deer are abundant in the south and many species of Platyrrhini can be found in the rainforest of north. Concern for the environment grew in response to global interest in environmental issues.
